BOUTTELL'S PICTURES.
A numerous audience assembled at the Drill Hall last night to witness the production of Bouttell's pictures. The series comprised a number of most interesting subjects, which were followed with keen interest by the audience. AVitli one or two exceptions, the pictures were all entirely new, and their selection is extremely creditable to the management. Last night two or three of the films suffered somewhat in brilliancy owing- to a slight leak in the air valve, but beyond this drawback the pictures were excellently shown. The star film of the production was the representation ■• of scenes from Sardon's grim tragedy "La Tosca" (a great creation by Sarah Bernhardt superbly acted), and splendidly re-pi'oduced. The views of Colombo and its environs were much appreciated, and the film of Bleriot's monoplane flight- across the Channel attracted much attention. The humorous pictures were partictilarly fresh and amusing. A return visit will be made on February 1.
