RAUMATI CO-OPERATIVE DAIRY COMPANY, LTD.

A meeting of the directors of the Raumati Dairy Factory was held at the secretary's office yesterday, when . ' only formal business was transacted, so far as the work of the factory was concerned. The followng interesting comparisons, showing the progress of the factory, were submitted by the secretary : Milk dealt with during December, 1909, 388, 4711b5. Milk dealt with during December, 1908, 185,9181b5. Butter Fat, December, 1909, 14,4061b5. Butter Fat, December, 1908, ' 66581b5. Average test, 1909, 3.7 per cent. Average test, 1908, 3.6 per cent. Money paid out, December, 1909, £628 18s sd. Money paid out, December, 1908, £317 Is 3d. The maximum daily milk supply was reached on December 26, when 13,0641bs were delivered at the factory on that day, the indications now being in a diminishing direction. The question of the competition now being held amongst the suppliers was referred to, and Mr H. Graham was * asked to judge the dairies, as the services of a Government expert were not available. The following conditions and points were agreed upon as the basis of the competition:—l. Best provision for consistent cleanliness in and about the milking shed, drainage, cleanliness of person, clothing, carts, etc., 37 _ points. 2. Care of utensils, 10 points. 3. Care of milk front time of milking till delivered at factory, 20 points. 4. Highest average quantity of milk per cow supplied during season, 5 points. 5. Second highest quantity of milk per cow supplied ' during season, 3 points. 6. Nearest approach as regards quantity undertaken to be supplied, taking the number of cows and multiplying same " by 500 gallons (an estimated fair average for the season) first ten points, second seven points (in the event of any suppliers supplying more than the estimated guaranteed quantity, the one supplying most to get first, and the next, second points). 7. Highest average test for season, 5 points. 8. Second highest test for season, 3 points. Total, 100 points.
