WIMBLEDON.
The Rifle Club fired its first Cup match on Saturday,, the day being perfect, and the largest attendance we have had. The roll numbered 15. The winners are as follow: —First, J. M. Fisher, White Swan Brewery cruet; second, A. W. S. Congley," Messrs Henry Williams and Sons' silver tea spoon; third, C. A. Hales, J. V. Brown and Co's. silver cigarette case.
A party of about fifty people jour- ; . neyed to Pahkuku on" Sunday, ar- : - riving there at 11 a.m., and' after partaking of lunch under the shade of the beautiful karaka trees all adjourned to the rocks, well supplied with fishing tackle, and every one returned home well satisfied with a very pleasant day's outing. Pahkuku is situated on the coast about four miles south of HerDertville, and is an ideal pleasure resort, in fact one of the best in Hawke's Bay.
