FIRE.
AN ENQUIRY. [press association.] CHRISTCHURCH, This Day. The official enquiry into the fire at the Cafe Cecil is proceeding'. The superintendent of the brigade said it was a case of deliberate incendiarism. All the employees were out, and the girl who discovered the fire denied any knowledge of it till the next day. The lessees of the Cafe portion of the building said they had notice to quit. The business was paying well, and they had no debts. The fire did not originate in the Cafe.
