J j ; WELLINGTON, to-day. < The High Commissioner's cable, dated London 2(5 Hi June, is as follows : — The mutton, market is weak, and there is less deniaud and the advance lias been partially lost. Canterbury 2gd, North Islaml 2gcl. The lamb market looks very weak, and there- are a number of sellers at 4-Jd for Canterbury brands," and 3fd for North Island. The beef market is firm, and there is a better demand.. Xew Zealand hinds 4-2-d, fores 2-Jd. The butter market is quiet. Imt holders arc 'firm and small supplies are coming forward. There is a keen market for choicest New Zealand at 106s; Australian, 100s; Danish, Ills; Siberian, 100s. The cheese market is dull, and prices are irregular. New Zealand white, 60s; colored, 61s. The hemp market is _very quiet and there is nothing doing and no changes in price, viz. : . Xcav Zealand good fair on the spot, £23 5s per ton; New Zealand fair on the spot, £22;'. fair -current Manila,' £22 10s; June-August shipments. New Zealand good fair £23, fair £21 13s; fair current Manila, £22. Manila's output wa5. 24,000 bales. The hop market is active and advancing, and stock is being reduced, as the- crop is very backward. English best 80s, medium 555; American. 655. The wool market is "quiet, but steady.
