N.Z. LOAN AND MERCANTILE AGENCY CO., LTD.
The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Co., Ltd., report on ilieir fortnightly sale in Miller's Road yards yesterday as follows: A small yarding of sheep and a heavy yarding of sheep came forward. ' We had Tio difficulty in disposing of our sheep entry, bat values for cattle wero very in and out, as sometimes is the case in Dannevirke. We offered over 300 head of ■ cattle, and only about half that number were sold. ■Our entry was made up mostly . of steers, for the most part good colors, and in - fair condition. Vendors' ideas of values seemed to be on the ■'high, side, and this, together with a changeable market, accounted for a «g®od portion of our yarding being passed in. We quote: — Sheep: Old ewes in lamb 7s 9d to 9s. Cattle: Four-year bullocks £4 14s to £4 17s, 2J~year steers £3 to £3 10s, store cows (poor) £2 Is, 2-year steers £3. line of Polled-Angus mixed sex -yearlings made £2 10s. Another line of 92 purebred P.A. weaners were passed in at £2 9s 6d, fat cows to £,H 5s (heavy). Weaners were in good-, demand, and considering size and quality sold exceedingly well at from 23s to 31s. Pigs: Weaners -(small) 7s 6d. V
