The tie resulting from the May ■competition for tli© captain's medal was played off last week, W. J. Herbert beating his opponent, D. Ardell. The June competition was. Avon hy F. G. Newenham. The Takapau Qolf Club intend opening their season on Wednesday next,' tho 23rd inst.., and invite members of the local club to take part in the ceremony.
