PRESENTATION.

On. Saturday evening a very pleas-' ing .ceremony took place at 'the "residence of Mr K. McDonald, manager of the Hawk'e's Bay Dairy Co.'s Eclipse factory, avlio is retiring* f rom that position "'at the end of the present ."month. The suppliers, recognis-* ing Mr McDonald's high qualities and his valuable services as manager ■ of the factory for the past four years," decided not to let Mr McDonald leave Dannevirke without £k send-off, and with this end- in view a movement was initiated for a: presentation, which took place 0,11 '■Saturday ' .even-' ing last, at a surprise party at. Mr McDonald's residence. A large, number of ;' friends ' were present , and Mr W..H. Caley, on behalf of his fellow-suppliers, presented Mr and Mrs McDonald with a, splendid tea service. . '.' ' ' ' In asking Mr McDonald's accept' anee of .the gift, Mr- Caley congratulated Mr** McDonald, : arid temiiided : him of the high esteem in which he" stood, and the cordial relations" which had: existed between all concerned at the factory. Mr Law and Mr Peacock also spoke' of Mt McDonald's high qualities, and wished him every success in his new undertaking. . '■ - >■.>>!.' Mr McDonald^ thanked- the suppliers on behalf of. himself and Mr^Me,Donald for the valuably- present they had received. He said that he. only had done his. duty-, and- tried to please every one, and that. the. pres:ent would serve as a lasting TemindeE; of the niany happy days, which /theyhad spent together in .Daimerirke., Refreshments having been haSufcd . round, a pleasant social half hour" was spent. The party then withdrew^,, with all best wishes t» Mr; and -Mrs McDonald, who are leaving Daainevirke at the end of the present month for their new home at Jackytown.
