THE SCULLING CHAMPIONSHIP.
[FBEBB ASSOCIATION.] AVANGANUI, to-day. Mr R. Coombes, editor of the Sydney Referee, "visited Arnst's crimp this morning and had a chat with the champion. From what the visitor saw, he is satisfied Arnst is just in about the same form as when he won the championship. His weight practically is the same, and he is sculling quite as well as in" December last. • Moreover Arnst himself is well pleased' with his prospects, and very confident he can defeat-? Webb, though he fully anticipates a hard race this time. Mr Coombes says he was ' disappointed with Webb's showing in the last race, in, which he displayed nothing like the pace he 'did on the Paramatta. : Webb is in his opinion now much improved, arid has got back to his old form. He is inclined to think Arnst will win, after a most exciting struggle between the two best scullers seen, for many years.
