♦ PROPOSED VISIT TO NEW ZEALAND. [PEEBB ASSOCIATION.] CHRISTCHURCH, to-day. . At a meeting of the management committee of the New Zealand Cricket Council yesterday, a letter was received from the South African Cricket Association, in. reply to the invitation to the South African team visiting Australia in 1910— 11 to play a series of matches in New Zealand, stating nothing definite had been arranged between the association and the Australian Board of Control in reference to the visit. The matter was left for discussion' at the triangular conference to be held at Lords this summer. The_ South African Association suggested that the New Zealand Association should allow the invitation to stand over till after the conference, when they would be glad to entertain negotiations to visit New Zealand. A letter was also received from . the Australian Board of Control, stating it would- be possible to arrange a visit of a second" eleven of Australia to New Zealand next season, if the date agreed upon would enable the team to return home about the beginning of December. It, was resolv-ed to ask the Board of Control if possible to .arrange the proposed visit, to start about the beginning of December, the men -returning to Australia about the second week in January. It was decided also, to "ask the affiliated unions to assist financially in the tour of -the Australian team to New Zealand on lines similar to these on which the Marylebone visit tviu; carried out.
