A MOTOR CAR EXPERIENCE.. '. [PRESS ASSOCIATION.] ' •'- WELLINGTON, to-day. May Hallett was sued civilly for £17 os 6d, hire of a motor car, by 'Inglis Bros. Counsel said defendant was willing to make a substantial offer to reduce the : debt. She was at present working in a bar at £2 per week. The evidence was that defendant, . under the name of Miss Donald, had engaged the car and paid £10 as a deposit. Afterwards she got this amount back from the chaffeur, and gave him £5 for personal expenses. The" magistrate said it was evident she had travelled through the length and breadth of the North Island, in the car, and made an order £or immediate payment or 14 days' imprisonment.
