Dalgety's, London, cabled their Napier branch to-day : — The top prices current at Smitlifield market for prime quality Now Zealand ox beef, hinds, 4-J-d; fores, 3d. The demand for frozen beef has been checked by the increased prices, which avc do not think will continue. Frozen lamb and •mutton show a better demand at unchanged prices, except prime crossbred Canterbury mutton, .light, which is |d per pound higher. Owing to scarcity of tallow, any change in prices since last cable fuvors the buyers.
