WESTLAND LICENSING COMMITTEE

— ♦ [PRESS ASSOCIATION.] HOKITIKA, last night. The Westland Licensing Committee granted practically all the licenses, with an extension of closing time to 11 p.m. In one case, where an applicant formerly hold a license in Hokitika, and now sought to obtain a license for a different house which he recently purchased, the Magistrate declined to give the necessary certificate of competency and refused the application for a new license to be dealt by the Committee. Finally the application was adjourned to the end of the month.
