The local corps is very busy making preparations '.for.. the opening of the new hall which' takes^place on Wednesday, 16th inst. : ■• . • The opening ceremony Avill be performed by his Worship the Mayor '■'* (Pastor H. M. Hies) at 3.15 pirn. Colonel Knight, officer in charge of tlie Salvation Army operations in. the North Island, will preside over the gathering. Other prominent citizens will, take part in the opening celebrations. • ■ v ■ ' ■ At 5.30 a monster tea meeting will take place in the Drill Hall, followed by a public meeting in the new hall at 7.45, o'clock, conducted by Colonel Knight, assisted by StaffCaptain Simms and officer's of the Hawke-'s Bay division and . other friends. Staff-Captain Simms, of the Salvation Army, who has recently returned from ■Melbourne, purposes speaking,, on the Chapman- Alexander revival on Sunday, next, at 3 o'clock.
