TIPAPAKUKU SCHOOL COMMITTEE
The above committee held its ordinary monthly meeting on Monday evening. Present: Messrs H. Benton (chairman), Webb (secretary), Herbert, Caley, Crooks, WilHams, White. ' Correspondence was read re oxira . accommodation and assistant mistress. .... The headmaster (Mr Quigk>y), in his report, stated that the present roll number of the school was 133, while the average attendance for the. past four weeks had, been 121, 118, 116.5, and 120 respectively. The report stated that the attendance was not as good as it might bo as rfcoo. many children were kept home for trivial excuses; however, during the last fejv. days it had been better, . and ..the., headmaster hoped it ■ would remain good and if parents Aviil try andsend their children as .regularly as possible through the winter there should be., no need to keep any back at. the-, end of the year. It is absence from school which hinders, tho work. Final arrangements wore mad* for the concert and dance on Friday, and as an excellent programme has been prepared a crowded house is expected.
