NORSEWOOD.

Quite a number of parents and friends attended at the. Norsewood school yesterday on the occasion of the "breaking-up" and annual .prizegiving. Mr P. G. Grant, the chairman of the School Committee, prej sented the upper school prizes, . and Mr A. B. Hansen the infants. Every child got. a. prize, marks and attendance being taken into consideration as to their value. During the afternoon two presentations were made. Miss Shu'gar,- the pupil teacher, who , is leaving, received three ■handsomelybound valumes and a silver-mounted purse from the staff, children, and committee, while Miss Julia Ericksen, the trainee, received three volumes from ifche staff and the children. Mr McCa-W, the Rev:. J. Oliver, and Mr J. O'Donnell spoke a few words to the children, the last-named and Mr J.. Chicken giving special prizes. The children then gave a display of drill and exercises, and then, with he-arty , cheers for Mr Ba&ley and staff, the committee,, otc, dispersed for their holidays.
