HOCKEY NOTES.
A meeting of the liuahine Hockey Club was held last night at the Club Hotel, when the following menibers were present : Messrs R. Robertshawe (chairman), F. Bottrill, B. E. A. Bargrove, N. W. Simpson, Toms, Thorbxirn, and O. L. Gee (secretary). Messrs Irwin and Bartlett waited on the club as delegates from the Dannevirke Hockey Club. The following new members were elected: Messrs Russell, Harrison, McDermott, Macdonald, Baker, Phillips, Tansley. A sub-association to the H.B. Hockey Association was formed, and Messrs Robertshawe and Gee were appointed delegates to act with Messrs Bartlett and Frwin, of the Dannevirke Hockey Club. Mr Gee was subsequently elected secretary to the association. Further business was deferred until it could be ascertained what other clubs would join the association. The High School girls, Woodville, and Ormondyille were mentioned as likely to join, and the association would like to see at least two hockey clubs formed here among the ladies. Both the Ruahine and Dannevirke clubs have sufficient members to enter two teams each in the association matches, to be arranged later. A challenge was received from Masterton to play a game here on Easter Monday, but owing to players having made other arrangements, the challenge will be considered for a later date.
