I * [press association.] WELLINGTON, to-day. Sidney Mitchell Barnes, well known as a balloonist, was charged to-day with wife desertion at Waimate. It was alleged he was about to leave the colony. Barnes was remanded to appear at Waimate on 18th. Bail. self in £80, and two sureties of £40 each, was allowed.
