CORRESPONDENCE.

PROPOSED TELEPHONE TO TIPAPAKUKU. (To the Editor.) — Sir, — I am sure all Tipapakuku settlers will be pleased at the step yonr paper has taken re the extension bf telephone communication to Tipapakuku. To-night's interesting leader should serve to stimulate Ti-papakuku-ites towards making an effort to advance bur district. The district is a growing one and property during the last few years has .yery much increased in value. In time, it should prove a very desirable spot for residents of Dannevirke seeking a home in the surrounding suburbs. The district is also a large one, and we should strive to get all the facilities possible, which will bring us into closer touch with our town neighbors. The mere fact of there being 100 children on the school roll shows the importance of the district. The telephone bureau in our midst would be a very valuable adjunct to the district, and I feel sure that should a ! -public meeting be called for the purpose- of having the proper -authorities [ approached, the meting would be well , attended. Should a tele2>hone office be opened in a central position, say at the junction of the three roads leading to Tiratu mills, I think it would meet with ample support' to justify the Government going to the |expense. — I am, etc., ! INTERESTED. I Tipapakuku, July 26, 1907.
