Mr London, the Mayor, has resigned his position as a member of the Fire Board in consequence of a representative of the insurance companies, having been appointed to the chair. The resignation of another city representative is also rumored. Cr Small, one of the City Council's representatives on the Fire Board, has also resigned out of sympathy for the Mayor, and as a protest against the action of the third representative of the Council, Cr Sullivan, an insurance agent, proposing Mr Bray for the chairmanship.
