.» ,Per Press Association.) GISBORNE, March 20. An understanding between the two sections obviate an election for the Licensing Committee. Three were nominated by the Prohibitionists and 2 by the Moderates. There was no declared ticket and in the case of an effort to have ten o'clock licenses in town the Magistrate's vote should decide. Christchtjroh, March 20. Nine candidates including the sitting members, have been nominated fcr the Christchurcb Licensing Committee. The ■ rival parties both claim f oar candidates and one is uncertain. The retiring members of the Lyttelton Committee have been returned unopposed. . Westport, March 20. Ten candidates have been nominatsd for the Buller Licensing Committee. New Plymouth, iMUrch 20. The Egmont licensing election is uncontested. For Taranaki there are ten candidates, five pledged to ten o'clock closing, and the others unpledged.
