Ormondville Library.
The annual meeting of the members of the above institution was held on Thursday last. There were about a dozen subscribers present. Mr Groom in the chair. The minutes of the previous meeting were read and confirmed, on the motion of Messrs Westall and Falconer. Proposed by Mr Shugar that tha retiring committee be re-elected. Seconded by Mr Falconer and carried. .It w.as decided to ballot for the vacancies caused by the death of Mr Hyde, and the absence of Mr Sargisson. Messrs L. Webb, Falconer, Shugar, Skinner, and Garforth, were nominated, and on the ballot being taken Messrs Falconer and Garforth were declared duly elected. On going into committee it was reeolved on the motion of Messrs Westall and Falconer, that Mr Groom be ro-elected Chairman, Mr Wilson secretary, and Mr Siddells treasurer. Mr Wilson thanked the members present for their k'ndness in re-elect-ing him, and gave a resume of the transaction that had taken place with regard to Library matters, "He was glad to say that [here was in hand at the present time £2 of the presentyear's subscriptions, and that he had paid over to Mr yiddells, the treasurer, £'i 17s the balanoo in hand from last year to meet the interest on the money borrowed on the building. Mr Groom returned thanks for the honor of being again elected. He was glad that the institution was ;n such a very prosperous condition. Mr Westall returned thanks on behalf of the committee: Mr Chicken proposed that all, the money possible should be obtained before next monthly meeting and added to the £2 already in hand so that new books could be purchased. He would also suggest that the members send in the names of books they would lik,e bought by next meeting so thfjt-the cqnyoittee would h#ve something to go on,
