RETIRING AGE
BUSINESS WOMEN CONFER The Dominion Council meeting of *he Federation of Business and Professional Women of the Y.W.C.A., New Zealand, which was held »in Palmerston North during the weekend, was presided over by the Dominion president, Miss M. L. Toulson. Delegates from all over the country attended. Arising from a remit endeavouring to bridge the gap between the retiring age of women and the commencement of social security benefits, it was agreed that the first step was a survey to be made during 1946 of the percentage of unmarried women with dependants, as was made in Britain recently. This revealed that 60 per cent of single women had dependants.
