AT ELLERSLIE

BONNY MARCH WELL Good gallops by General Lytup and Cowper were features of the work at Ellerslie this morning, when the No. 2 grass was in use. The going was very dead, and times were slow in consequence. Coronule and Tactical sprinted three furlongs in 43 1-os. Bonny March went exceptionally well In company with Transfix over half a mile In 545. Pedro did his half in 565, and Hot Pursuit was going fairly easily over the last four of five furlongs in 575. Brierly took 57 1-os. General Lytup hit out in good style to record 1.7 4-5 for five furlongs, coming home over the last four in 53 3-ss. Cowper again sprinted well to break 1.9 for this distance. Honora and Frontier Mac ran their five in 1.9. Both are in excellent order. Gaelic Salute was bowling along very freely over five in 1.10, the last three in 435. Nawab and British Talent ran six furlongs in 1.22 4-5, and Sir Dink clocked 1.25. Slavonik took 1.26. Our Gold went seven in 1.37 2-5, the last six in 1.22 2-5. With a big weight up, Lucky Alex covered a round in 1.57 after a slow first two furlongs.
