RUGBY FINAL
AUCKLAND CHAMPIONSHIP BIG GAME AT EDEN PARK The Auckland Rugby Union's 1045 ienior premiership will be decided at iden Park to-morrow afternoon when . J onsonby will play Whenuapai in the jallaher Shield final. Ponsonby's prosccts were greatly enhanced by its convincing win over Grafton last week, but Mienuapai throughout the season has shown that it is a difficult team to upset. Its strength on defence is indicated by the fact that during the Gallaher Shield competition it has only had 42 points registered against it in seven matches. Ponsonby at present holds a one-point lead at the head of the championship adder and Whenuapai will need an out•ight win to take the honours. Both teams will be at full strength and a keen and interesting match should be witnessed.
At Blandford Park the Falcon Cup semi-final will be played between Philomel and Comrades, while Onehunga and Eastern Suburbs will meet in the second grade final.
