WINNER CONGRATULATED
"It was the best game seen at Carlaw Park for a long time," said the chairman, Mr. J. W. Watson, at a meeting of the Board of Control of the Auckland Rugby League last evening, when it was decided to send a letter of congratulation to the North Shore team for winning the Roope Rooster competition. The chairman added that me Richmond team had put up a great performance in the second half of the match.
The Wellington Rugby League reported that when the representative match between Auckland and Wellington was played at Wellington, 2239 tickets were sold at the gate. The gross takings were £143, the Auckland share being £49.
The treasurer, Mr. E. J. Knowling, pointed out that when the' Wellington representative team played in Auckland, Wellington's share was £354.
