MUNICIPAL CENTRE
PROPOSAL FOR NEW LYNN Further progress towards implementing the proposal to construct a municipal centre was made at a meeting of the New Lynn Borough Council when it was decided to have the plans and estimates prepared. Some time ago it was decided to put the project in hand at the end of the warf A town hall, library, rest rooms, Plunket rooms, municipal offices and several shops wilL be included in the proposed block which is to be erected on a site of the borough reserve fronting the Great North Road. With rents from the shops and the letting of the hall for public functions, the scheme will be practically self-supporting, it m considered.
