INFORMATION SOUGHT
GRACIE FIELDS' CONCERTS
It was decided at a meeting of the Auckland Metropolitan Patriotic Committee last night to make inquiries from the National Patriotic Fund Board as to the amount raised for patriotic purposes by the concerts given by Gracij Fields during her recent visit to New Zealand. Committee members expressed surprise that no official statement had been made and Mr. A. Peckston stated that, in view of the Auckland Provincial Patriotic Council's unsuccessful efforts to obtain information, there seemed to be undue secrecy about the whole business. The chairman, Mr. G. W. Hutchison said the committee had a right to ,ask officially whether it was to get any share and on his motion it was decided that the matter should be taken up with the National Patriotic Fund Board.
