» FRICTION AX IVHANGAREI O.C. WHANGAREI. Thursday. The outcome of,the action of the leading team In the whangarei men's competitions, Mangapai, walking off the field at Kensington Park last Saturday when one of its players had been ordered off by Mr. D. Thomson, one of the officiating umpires, was heard at a meeting of the Whangarei Hockey Umpires' Association last night. The Mangapai delegate to the Hockey Association, Mr. N. S. .Franklin, who is also an umpire, said that Mangapai would refuse to play any ' games in which Mr. Thomson was the controller. The Umpires'' Association decided to leave the question with the umpires' selector, Mr. H. Patterson, to allocate the duties as he thought fit
