ANNUAL PRIZE NIGHT
VICTORIA CRUISING CLUB The 43rd annual presentation of prizes won during the Victoria Cruising Club's season was held in the Westhaven Cabaret on Wednesday evening. The commodore, Mr. R. Tuohey, said that the feature of the season was the club's success in the New Zealand fresh water championships at Rotorua at Easter and at the Tauranga contests, where W. Ross won three races in the 7ft P class. He was presented with a wristlet watch by the club. Sir Ernest Davis, who has been patron of the club since its inception, presented the prizes. Cup winners were: Rae Cup. Celeste; Boonstra Memorial. Manaia; White Cup, Mercedes; Cock's Cup, Content; George Cup, Mahanga; New Zealand fresh water championship, Z class, Tawaki; Points Cup, Silver Fern; Ryan Cup, Shirlene; Hodgson Memorial, Tanya; Anzac Cup, Silver Fern; O'Connell Cup, Why Not. On behalf of the officers and committee of the club, Sir Ernest presented a gold wristlet watch to Mr. Tuohey, who has completed eight years as commodore.
