ALL-BRITISH MUSIC
PROGRAMME AT LYCEUM CLUB A programme of all-British composers was presented by the musical circle of the Lyceum Club in the club lounge this week. . A prologue on British music> written for the occasion by Mrs. H. rlollinrake, was read by Mrs. H. P. Richmond, Mrs. Hollinrake being unable to attend. Songs by Elgar, Delius, Granville Bancock, Spohr, Frank Bridge, Alfred Hill and William James were sung by Mrs. John Manning, Miss Eleanor Fair, Mrs. Walter Duncan-and Mrs. Harold Owers. Piano compositions by Richard Addinsell, Harold Craxton, and Roger Quilter were given by Mrs. Murray Heycock and Mrs. Reg. Reed. Mrs E. R. Greenfield, violinist, played "Lullaby" by Cyril Scott and a medley of Scottish airs and the extract from Dickens' ''Great Expectations" recited by Mrs. Kenneth Gordon was fittingly placed in a' British programme. The guest and the artists were welcomed by :he circle convener, Mrs. Archie Campbell. Mrs Reg. Reed and, Mrs. H. P. Richmond were the accompanists.
