HEAVY FALL OF SNOW
ROAD CLOSED FOR TRAFFIC
THE. TAUPO-TAIHAPE ROUTE
Heavy snow has fallen on the Desert Road on the eastern side of National Park, and the direct route between Taupo and Taihape, via Waiouru, has been closed for motor traffic, according to advice received by the Automobile Association (Auckland).
There are also treacherous snow conditions, the association states, on the route via National Park and Ohakune.
