CORNWALL HOSPITAL
POST OF MEDICAL OFFICER
Several matters in connection with Cornwall Hospital, which was recently taken over by the Auckland Hospital Board, came before a meeting of the board last evening. It was decided to appoint a medical officer in charge of the chronic diseases cases at the hospital, such officer to be medical superintendent of the hospital directly responsible to the board nad also to assist as required at the Green Lane Hospital. ■
A request for information as to whether any of the buildings in Cornwall Park could be made available for temporary housing was received from the Ons Tree Hill Borough Council. It was decided to reply that when the board was in a position to do so it would inform the War 'Assets Realisation Board as to what buildings were surplus to requirements, and the council should then make inquiries of that organisation. The matter of hospital grounds not required being handed back to the Cornwall Park trustees at a rental of £6 an acre a year was left to the chairman of the finance committee, Mr. J. Grierson. and the act-ing-secretary, Mr. R. F. Galbraith, with power to act.
