HIGH SCHOOL RESERVES
HAMILTON REARRANGEMENT O.C. HAMILTON, this day. The board of governors of the Hamilton High School yesterday approved a special committee's report on the proposed transfer of six acres at Hamilton East to the Auckland Education Board. Mr. Hammond said the committee had visited a property of 47 acres held by the board and as the result of a conference had agreed to recommend the transfer of six acres in exchange for 15 acres across Peachgrove Road, an area not considered suitable for the establishment of a school. Mr. Hammond said the arrangement would give the board a suitable site for a new intermediate school, with which it was proposed to proceed at the earliest possible moment. The remaining 40 acres, together with the 15 acres across Peachgrove Road, would be used for a boys' high school.
