V.A. IN ITALY
TRAVEL CLUB TALK
Her experiences as a V.A. on leave in Italy were given by Mrs. John Newcombe at the Auckland Travel Club yesterday. Miss Bertram, president, in introducing the speaker, mentioned that Mrs, Newcombe and Mrs. Carlisle (who recently gave an address on the subject of a V.A. on duty), took the leading parts in a double wedding which took place in Italy where both brides and bridegrooms were on active service. Mrs. Newcombe vividly described visits to Jerusalem, Telaviv, Syria Isle of Capri, Rome and other parts of Italy. These places, she : said | were all new and highly interesting [to a New Zealand nurse.
