BEAU DINK PLEASES

IS IN PARLIAMENTARY

ACTIVITIES AT TAKANINI

A pleasing gallop was registered at Tlakanini yesterday morning by Beau Dink, which is engaged in : the Parliamentary Handicap on the second day of the Wellington meeting. AVith A. Tinker in the saddle, the son of Dink and Limeen went stylishly over six furlongs in 1.19, and if he mases the trip to Trentham he may have to be considered. The latest arrival at Takanini is a rising three-year-old filly by Te Hero— Sweet Rosalyn, which has been added to P. E. Pope's stable. She looks to be speedy. Bronya has done well since last racing and has furnished considerably during a let-up. The Australian-bred filly was always considered a smart galloper but was highly-strung, and this was against her on race days. If settled down, she will not remain long in maiden company. Yorkish Pleasing Yorkish is working aiong nicely and moving with plenty of freedom. Although unsound, the Man's Pal gelding survived two races at the winter meeting and is an improved gelding. It is, 'of course, doubtful whether he will stand much racing, but there is every indication that he will be in better form when next produced. Lord Chancellor looks as well as ever, and is on the scene early for the new season. One of the best handicappers seen out in recent years, he is in a tough position in the weights, but will always be respected. No Luck At Hastings Beau Martian returned on Wednesday from an unsuccessful visit to Hastings, and although he appears to have benefited by the race, he will not be a competitor at Wellington. In the Hastings Maiden the son of Beau Repaire looked to have the second division won at the turn into the straight, but he wilted in the run home to just miss a place. Babrow was galloped on in the Winter Handicap at the Hawke's Bay meeting on Saturday and stripped from the hock to the joint of the off hind leg. The injury is not considered serious, but it came just when he appeared certain to be in the money.
