COMMENT BY MAGISTRATE

j O.C. HAMILTON, this. day. "This is the worst case in my experience in regard to neglect.of a property and'the growth of ragwort," said Mr. S. L. Paterson, S.M., in the Magistrate's Court to-day in fining Anthony Petrie £20 for failing to destroy noxious weeds. Defendant pleaded not guilty to the charge. Mr. G. M. Wall, noxious weed inspector for the Waipa County Council, said defendant owned 105 acres of unimproved peat land on the east side of the Monavale swamp, but he did not live on the property.
