GOOD FUTURE PREDICTED
BENBECULA FOR RICCARTON Benbecula, one of the most promising horses raced in Southland this season, is to join the Riccarton team of R. Wilson this week, states the Star's Christchurch representative. Benbecula will continue to race for his Southland breeder, Mr. J. Macdonald, who decided on the transfer from Invercargill as he considers Benbecula will have firmer track conditions in Canterbuz-y.
Benbecula is a four-year-old half.' brother by Siegfried to Sister Sal jaijjjt Sal's Pal, and in two seasons has won" £10-10. Most of his winning was done while he was trained by R. E. McLellan,. but last Christmas he was transferred to P. W. Ellis' stable.
After some attractive hack form Benbecula dead-heated for second place in the Riverton Cup, and later won the Winton Cup after a hard fight with Good Cast. He looks like winning good class handicaps.
