60,000 CIGARETTES STOLEN
CASES TAKEN OFF LORRY After breaking two padlocks on the door of a store shed at the Newton Road depot of A. B. Wright and Sons, Ltd., Customs, forwarding and receiving agents, on Thursday night, thieves entered the premises and stole about 60,000 cigaretes, valued at £200. The cigarettes, packed in wooden cases, had been left on a motor truck in one of the firm's sheds, ready for delivery to city shops yesterday. It was evident that the thieves loaded the cases on to another vehicle.
