HOME SERVICEMEN'S GRATUITIES
With regard to the article appearing in Saturday's Star, the Auckland branch of the New Zealand Home Servicemen's Association is not the only branch in the Auckland Province. There are branches at Otahuhu and North Shore, with a sub-branch at Takapuna, and other branches are in process of formation within the Auckland City area, so therefore the Auckland branch is only speaking for itself. An answer to the following questions would be appreciated by home servicemen. (1) The date of the executive committee meeting when the resolutions regarding gratuities were discussed. (2) The date of the meeting of members that the decision was ratified. (3) How many members were present at the meeting that ratified the decision This matter is being discussed by a considerable number of home servicemen and women, as well as exoverseas servicemen, and it is the consenus of opinion that before giving publicity to the resolution the whole matter should have been discussed by the association in Wellington, and that that body should be the only competent one to express an opinion on behalf of home servicemen. HOME SERVICEMAN.
