RED CROSS TRANSPORT
CORPS' FIFTH ANNIVERSARY A social function celebrating the fifth anniversary of the formation of the Auckland Women's Red Cross Transport Corps was Held at the corps' rooms last night. About 300 members and visitors, including a ■large number of sick and wounded servicemen, were present. Among the guests was Wing-Commander W. V. Crawford-Compton, D.S.O. and bar, D.P.C. and bar. The centre commandant, Mr. F. V. Home, said that not only the anniversary of the corps, but also the completion of a million miles of voluntary transport running by members, was being celebrated. Members were complimented by the chairman of the Auckland City sub-centre of the Red Cross Society, Mr. A. K. Penwick, on their unselfish service to sick and wounded servicemen.
