LAND CAPITALISATION
O.C. KAWAKAWA, this day. The Bay of Islands City Council has decided to recommend to the Government that local authorities be given discretionary powers against over-capitalisation of land on which a living is obtained, in order to protect those on the land from being penalised by the possible action of supervisors or inspectors in commanding the erection of farm residences far beyond farmers' means.
A further suggestion is that the provisions of the bill in regard to housing control should be made to apply to all native housing, provided that any additional costs that might be incurred should be recoverable from the State and not from the local authority. .
