DAWES—WATSON
FROCK OP WHITE CREPE WORN .At the Baptist Tabernacle on Saturday the marriage took place of Joyce Elizabeth, elder daughter of Mr. and Mrs. H. E. Watson, of Ponsonby, to Flight-Lieutenant Frank Ross Dawes, elder son of Mrs. E. Dawes, of Devonport. The Rev. Dr. Hodge officiated. The bride, who was given away by her father, wore a lovely gown of white crepe made with a cowl neck which fell in three folds across the bodice. The gathered skirt had ■ a train and on her head was a coronet of orange blossoms which kept the veil in place. A shower bouquet of white roses, begonias and bouvardia was carried. Attending as bridesmaids were Doreen Watson (sister), and Miss Esther Stace. They wore frocks of Marina blue crepe with heart-shaped necks and full skirts and carried bouquets of roses and begonias in autumn shades. The best man was Flight-Lieutenant D. N. Cook (Nelson) and the groomsman was Lieutenant K. Tripp, R.N.Z.N.V.R. Following the ceremony a reception was held at the Ritz, where Mrs. Dawes received her guests wearing a fine coloured suit and hat with spray of tuber roses. Mrs. Watson was in a honey-gold suit and hat with cream roses and begonias. The bridegroom's grandmother, Mrs. M. Lee, was in a black ensemble with a spray of gerberas.
