BACK TO ORAKEI?
The Orakei Club, in pursuit of its ambition to get a lease of its former headquarters at Orakei, convened a public meeting during the week at the St. James' Hall. Orakei. Enthusiasm for a project of combining summer sports, bowls and tennis, with the golf club, was reflected in a packed house. The member for the district, Professor Algie, attended and offered to place before the Minister of Crown Lands the meeting's decision to endeavour to obtain a lease of the property.
