OBITUARY

MR. J. HENDERSON Well-known in Takapuna. where he resided for 23 years. Mr. Jack Henderson has died at the age of 75. Born in Foxton, he was the eldest son of the late Mr. and Mrs. A. Henderson. In 1919 he came with his wife and family to Auckland from Piriaka, King Country, where he farmed for several years prior to World War I. Following his residence in Takapuna he lived at Northcote for the three years prior to his death. Mr. Henderson was an expert axeman in his younger days. An excellent shot, he won several trophies at clay bird shooting as an executive member of the Takapuna Gun Club. He was a life member of the Takapuna Citizens' Band and band chairman for a number of years- He was a past chief ranger of the Takapuna Ancient Order of Foresters. Surviving him are his wife, Mrs. Louisa Henderson, of Northcote; one son. Mr. L J. Henderson, Takapuna; and one daughter, Mrs. A. Palmer, Milford.
