GROCER TO PAY FINES

PRICE CONTROL BREACHES

Two breaches of the price control regulations were admitted by Herbert Austin O'Gara (66), a grocer (Mr. Rees), in the Magistrate's Court this morning. Mr. Rosen, who prosecuted, stated that following complaints being made to the Department of Industries and Commerce, an inspector visited defendant's shop in Napier Street and bought a tin of condensed milk for which she was charged lid. Defendant told the inspector he had had the milk for some time and did not know the price fixed for it. On this charge the magistrate, Mr. P. H. Levien, imposed a fine of £10 and costs. On a further charge of failing to display a copy of the price order a fine of <:?, „rd costs was imposed.
