HORSES FOR WOODVILLE?
TRAINER SUFFERS INJURY Special. WANGANUI, Wednesday. Vision and Rebate have been left in their engagements at Woodville, and will make the trip if transport can be arranged. Vision has come on nicely since racing at Marton, and the Coronach filly should run well in the Sapling Stakes, although still capable of improvement. Rebate has Jseen showing all her speed on the tracks, and if the best can be got out of her in the County Handicap she will take a lot of beating. Garth Ivil, the apprentice with H. Benge and H. Callahan, will ride Vision and Rebate, and will also be on Pahi Ra in the Woodville Handicap. Patta Fe has been galloping in good style and this Midlan mare might get into the money at Woodville; that is if she can reach the scene, which seems doubtful with the railway restrictions again in force. R. Johnson, of New Plymouth, went through to Woodville on Monday with Dawn Flight and Waipero. Alright has not made his reappearance on the track since the Trentham meeting, but is freshening up well, and should be in great heart on his next trip to Trentham. Jim Campbell, trainer of Derryogue and New Deer, suflered a nasty accident when he had a fall off the Solicitor youngster which he was breaking in. Head injuries led to him having to spend a fortnight in hospital, but he is now well on the way to recovery. Derryogue was sent home in the meantime, and the colt is now in Hawera, where he is to be got readv for racing. This youngster is owned by Mr. H. Card, who won the New Zealand Cup with The Banker, and he Is the makings of a good one. Ann Bank is being kept at easy work, as is also Behave, both of whom are to do the. Taranaki meetings next month all going well.
