National war savings receipts in the Auckland postal district last week were £12,186. This brings the total for the financial year to £812,076, which is £86,541 in excess of the proportionate amount of the annual quota to date. Twenty-four sub-centres have exceeded the proportionate amounts of their annual quotas to date, and ten of these— Broadwood, Howick, Kaeo, Kerikeri Central, Kumeu, Russell, Te Kopuru, Waipu, Waiuku and Warkworth— have achieved their full amounts for the year. With less than seven weeks to the end of the financial year, an effort is being made to arouse enthusiasm in the district with a view to obtaining the full annual quota in each of the 53 sub-centres. Receipts in the Auckland metropolitan area to date are £636,043, which is £93,793 in excess of the proportionate amount of the . annual quota.
