PITCAIRN ISLAND
In the interesting and informative article "Lonely Pitcairn" published in yesterday's issue mention was made that the Seventh-day Adventist foreign mission organisation seemed to pay little heed to the medical needs of the generally healthful Pitcairn Island native. The Seventh-day Adventists send out annually more medical missionaries than all other Protestant denominations combined, and any such lack on Pitcairn has been entirely due to the many more urgent needs in less fortunate parts of the world. However, I am sure that your readers will be interested in learning that some nine months ago a fully registered nurse was made available by our Mission Board to take up residence on this isle. The latest clergyman appointed was also given a special short clinical course before leaving New Zealand. S.D.A. CLERGYMAN.
