ROTARY CLUBS
NATIONAL CONFERENCE
IN AUCKLAND NEXT WEEK
A comprehensive range of subjects will be covered by discussions at the first Dominion conference of Rotary clubs since 1941, to be held in Auckland next week. Thirty-fiye of the 43 clubs in New Zealand will be represented, and there will be about 130 visitors, in addition to 150 Auckland members, at the conference. A reception and social function will open the programme on Monday, and on the following morning the business of the conference will begin at the Auckland University College. The opening ceremony will be performed by the Mayor, Mr. Allum; and there will be an address by the district governor, Mr. H. T. Thomas, who will preside. The main subject for discussion on Wednesday . morning will be Rotary and rehabilitation, while the afternoon address will be on the future of the Maori, to be followed by discussion groups dealing with international service, rehabilitation and youth service. Youth service will occupy a large part of the programme on the final morning and there will also be an address on Rotary's 40th anniversary. The final gatherings will be a garden party on Thursday afternoon.
